"Hydration during not only the summer months, but all year round is key to overall health. As one of the foremost important elements in fitness, we recommend a minimum 64 ounces of H20 daily. That’s right, minimum!! Our bodies are 70% water. Not only do you need water to work out, but your cells are in need of hydration to keep your body functioning normally."
Doug Hinzman CPT
"Protein… everyone’s needs are different according to your goals. Talk to an expert to be certain you are getting in enough protein to build muscle. We aren’t just talking body builders. Anyone who wants to reduce body fat needs to increase muscle mass. Protein is essential to this process."
Dylan Brizendine CPT
"Cut down on white sugar, flour and processed foods. Why is America leading in obesity? Read the previous sentence and there’s your first clue. Making these simple lifestyle changes will reduce body fat and increase overall wellness."
Gage Corns CPT
"10,000 steps a day is our daily recommendation. Buy a pedometer if you aren’t into the craze of Fitbits or tech gadgets. A simple pedometer will start you on your way to a healthier, fitter you! Day one, don’t look at the pedometer until you go to bed at night. This will be a reality check as to your steps in your normal day. Now start increasing your steps by a goal of 300 to 500 steps daily until you reach your goal of 10,000 steps per day. Progression is the key to success!"
Lindsay Newland CPT
"Eating 5 to 6 small meals a day will keep your metabolism burning calories at a higher rate throughout your day. Low calorie, low fat, high protein snacks through your day help stabilize your body’s blood sugar levels, keep energy running steady, and help control over eating at night. You have to plan ahead and prepare portions for the next day. Take the time to prepare and you will be much less likely to grab a donut in the morning at work, a baked good a well-meaning co-worker has brought in or travel to the unhealthy vending machine for a pick me up!"
